4.7 motor

RE: 4.7 motor
lol nice come back....
yeah id do exhaust (no need for anything fancy just a freer flowing muffler. with the 4.7, a complete dual exhuast system would be a waste of money and cause you to lose backpressure)
and a cold air intake or if you want a sweet lookin hood, do a functional ram air intake with an srt hood or ramair hood.
some of airrams stuff is pretty good.thepower wire will give you some extra horses in about 30 seconds.
and if you want you can get a fastman ported throttle body (recommended size for the 4.7 is 68.5 mm i think). all of these mods are fairly cheap (the cold air intake will be the most expensive and its only gonna run you about $350) and you can do it all yourself in your drive way in about 2 hours (should be less than that actually) except for the exhuast, if you cant weld then youll obviously need to go to an exhuast shop. i think youll notice a pretty big difference in performance after these mods.
one thing to stay away from would be throttle body spacers. i had one and took it off, i still drive the same and my gas mileage went up ALOT! and the annoying whining sound is gone now as well. if you want and expensive paper weight, go ahead and get one, because its not good for any thing else.

Well I didn't see anyone mention gears. That has got to be the best mod you can make to the Ram with the 4.7L. (Like mine) I opted for the 4.56's and an Auburn Posi unit. It was pricey at close to $1k but if you justdo gears without the auburn, you're looking at about $500.00 ... Of course intake and exhaust help as well. There arebigger cams, throttle bodies, headers, Y-pipes,superchips, etc. The list is long. It depends on how much more power you want.

yeah i knew i forgot something and the gears was it. a new set of gears will really make you notice a difference. wont give you any more horses, but youll get the ones you have to the ground alot better.
and like bgbluram said, there are tons of things out there for the 4.7, not as much as the hemi, but there are lots of things you can do to it. it all depends on how far you wanna go. if you want just a few more horses, then stick to the bolt ons like i mentioned, if you wanna go all out, there are tons of things you can do to the internals that will give you a major boost in performance.
