I need to replace my tailgate and bumper on my '05 Ram 1500. How hard is it to take off the tailgate and rear bumper? How do you do it? When I go to get these two parts painted, is it best to have them on or off?

they are simple to remove . go to the tech part of the forum and you should find some help on taking them off. And do yourself a favor remove them if your only painting those two pieces . I've work with many different body shops and there is always some sort of overspray that wind up on the areas around the pieces being painted. You may not notice it when you get the truck back but then notice it when you are detailing it. avoid the headaches, remove them.
