Well it's 6 one quart bottles. The diff holds 3 quarts so I ordered the 3 quarts for the initial gear and posi installation and 3 quarts for the 500 mile gear oil change after the gears are done breaking in. The oil is $10 a bottle and it was a little expensive but I heard the royal purple synthetic was the best stuff on the market for diffs so i decided to just bite the bullet and buy it.

i just had my rear end rebuilt under warranty by the dealership. they said the fluid i was using caused the LSD failure.. i was using ROYAL PURPLE. The clutches failed or melded together and sounded like i had a crowbar in the rearend. Felt like it too! scary as hell and would have been very costly. i never got to see the damage first hand and i am not trying to discredit any particular gear oil. just my experience

HEY! That looks like what UPS dropped off at my house a few short weeks ago. You'll love it man, I know I sure do! 4.56's or 4.88's? I went with the 4.56's and it's a whole new truck, wouldn't be afraid to go with the 4.88's however.

Thanks for the info dean, what posi did you have?

Bgblue, did you order from the website I gave you? I only got 3.92's as I am still on the factory 17's with a 3.55 rear end. I am getting some 20's and I didn't want anything bigger than 3.92 cause I do lots of highway driving. I will swap out my 20's for my 17's at the track so it will be like the guys running 4.10's with 20's. Also, how do you like the auburn? Is the traction alot better? like noticeable?

FYI, if you put a stock 20" wheel and tire next to a stock 17" wheel and tire, you'll notice they are the same overall diameter, so this will not help you at the track.... unless losing traction from running a more narrow tire is what your going for? Just my $.02 Also what kind of Aburn is that? The box almost looks like it is showing the AuburnETC (E-locker), or is it just posi?

the tires on 20's I have seen have been about 2-3 inches taller than the tires on my 17's. It is just a regular posi, not the Elocker. The picture quality is bad because it is from a cell phone.
