Hey man I just sent you a email on the board. I went through the same thing. I wouldnt deal with any of the guys at cartoys. The guys I talked to didnt seem to know what they were doing. Go to Earmark Car Audio. Guys are true pros. I will never go anywhere else.

 

ok, they came down on there price, to what i considered to be reasonable, so i went ahead and got them to do it.... ok well i drop it off at 9 in the morning and they tell me its gonna be around 5 or 6. so i call them at 6 they say its gonna be right at closing time...it seemed a lil weird to me but....i said ok....i show up over there at 8.50 and my truck was parked outside waiting for me......i go inside and they want me to sign paperwork and stuff.....i was like no...lets go check out the truck first......we went and it looked good.but like i said it was at night so i really coulnt see but it sounded good.....so i sign the paperwook and leave( this was friday night) saturday evening the truck leaves me..it would not start at all......i got someone to give me some jumper cables and it took a while to get it stated but it started.........so today i go talk to cartoys they say its my battery that has a bad cell...im like wtf it was ok b4 your install....so tell them ill go get it tested to check it out.......the battery is good........i go back to cartoys and tell them the battery is good........they guys says come back in 30 minutes to check it out...........i said ok so i show up 30 minutes later and they say can you come back tomorrow because wewant theguy thatdid the install to check it out.......i was like WTF!! why did you tell me to come back in 30 minutes?? your wasting my time!!! and i just walk out of the store..............they called me saying that they feel that i need to talk to the manager.......so im gonna talk to the manager tomorrow at 12.........there a few things we need to talk about!!

1. they ran out of wood and wasted my time
2. carpet on the box does not match my truck
3. there i guess fiberglass on the inside of my rear door, and on the seats( its a lil but still)
4. they might haved installed the amp wrong so its draining my battery
5.i found 2 bolts on the floor of the truck!!
6. they told me to come back 30 minutes later and then they tell me to come back tomorrow!!
7. i was told the amp was going in between the the subs but they put it under the passanger seat

so what do you guys think i should get for my troubles??

 

Everything should be corrected ON SITE WHILE YOU AND THE MANAGERARE PRESENT. They should either wave the labor fee or give you everything at cost. Raise hell!

 

wow dude that's pathetic but one question what Jl w3 did u get v2 or v3. I personally have a v2 with the e1400d which is the same as the a1400d its just the previous model year and I have it in a jeep wrangler with ragtop and it's loud as hell with great soundquality. In a truck it would be a lootttt I mean a lotttt louder just because of how the sound pressure just goes out through the soft top. You will love the sub trust me. JL is the way to go i.m.o. they are a bit expensive I paid for my 12" w3v2 230 bux my e1400d was 350 then my h/u was 180 front and rear speakers were 500 and the ported sub box was 150. All in all i got about 1700 dollars in stereo all but h/u is JL audio I've had it for over a year and i play it loud just about everyday and listen to all types of music you will not be dissapointed

Wow what Cartoys is this, Iv'e been jerked around by that store befor now I go to Magnoila .they tried the same thing with me the price pushed me away . I found a Fox sub box on Ebay very happy it thumps I paid 125 for it with shipping then I used a Rockford amp and it is under the drivers seat .

 

ok, they found a wire that was always draining power from my battery, they fixed that........and there going to cut the box so that i can use the cup holders, there going to re-carpet the box to match my truck's interior ( they had the carpet but didnt use it) there going to get rid of the fiberglass resin that is on my doors, i told the manager "what im i going to get for my troubles?" he told be that he would take care of me , for whatever i need from them..... i wanttoget a double din screen from them

 

there's more i removed the sub box from the truck and there, a puddle of glue or fiberglass (4"x 6") just there...idk, it just gets worst and worst but im talkin to the manage again today!! [:@][:@][:@]

 

If you keep getting any resistance from and I mean any ask them if they are members of the Better Business Bureau. If they are then let them know you are going to report them to it. That will definately put a fire under that ***!If theysay they are not check with BBB anyway. If they are not contact your local City Hall and lodge a complaint there. $1000.00 is not a small amount of money I would be doing everything I could evencontacting a local paper to write a small article in the "Letters to the Editor" section.
