Default Flowmaster 40 vs. AT3030

I am going to get an exhaust system soon and I want your opinoins on which muffler I should go with. Either way, I'm going to dump the exhaust at about 12"-18" after the muffler. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on both and the Flowmaster I can get shipped for about $100 and have it welded in while the AT3030 I can get for about $176 and then have welded in. Is the AT3030 worth the extra money? Feel free to post pics and vids.

I got an at3030 welded into my 06. well worth it. The mds sound is not bad at all. Just make sure to get rid of the second resonator. I hear the flowmasters are extremely annoying when the mds kicks in.

Edit: didn't realize you had the 4.7. you have no need to worry about the mds sound or resonators then. Get the at3030 anyways. the sound is great.

Sounds good. From your pics it looks like you just have it ending after the glass pack. Did you leave it that way? Notice any gains...like HP, MPG, TQ? Do you have a video of idling? I drive primarily from work to home with a lot of traffic. Don't really get to open it up much, so I want it to sound good at low rpms too. I'm looking for the best of all the aspects here. I want it to soundgood, but more importantly I want it perform well. I like the idea of dumping the exhaust before the axle to keep that hidden exhaust look. But I also want to have a healthy exhaust note. You can tell which guys didn't do their homework if their exhaust sounds overly loud at low speeds or pops and sputters while slowing down. Am I asking too much?

I never did put a tip or any other piping on the end of the glasspacks. It does not snap, crackle, or pop! It looks great hidden underneath the truck, and it sounds friggin' awesome even when NOT wide open. I could take more videos soon, just not today.
