Default What should I do?

I have come into a complete 5.7L,It has a burned crank shaft. It was replaced at a dealership because Jiffy Lube or someone like that stripped the drain plug,by-by oil. A MOPAR performance crank is a bit over 400.00$, no probs there.Heres my dilema: I have a Comp Cams 268h-13,valve springs and push rods,as well as a new set of Edelbrock headers. My truck already has 6.1L injectors and a Barry Grant fuel pump(30 lb rail pressure),superchips Flashpaq,Cai,Gibson headers, and 4.56 gears with a locker.
My engine has 17000 miles on it,should I build the core engine or just do the upgrades on the engine in the truck. I was thinking the extra 5.7L might go nicely in my Demon. Hmmmm,I wonder if I could shoe horn it into the ol' ladys Stratus R/T.....Any way, back to reality, any suggestions or recomendations would be apreciated, any good ideasfor[sm=gears.gif][sm=gears.gif] the extra engine?

For $400 I would buy it, rebuild it and either stick it in the barn for later, drop it in the Demon make one heck of a sand rail/dune buggy...

EDIT: I would aloso retro the engine and take as much of the electronics out of it as possible if your going to drop it in an older car. Go old school with it - Holley truck carb, high rise intake, etc.

I sure was thinking about that, the Demon is a stick car originally,so sliping a late model 5 or 6 speed should not be that much of a problem. While I was at it I would like to upgrade to a hydraulic clutch.Sure sounds interesting doesnt it?

30 psi fuel pressure? 04 ram has 58psi + or - 2psi with the factory pump.

Stick it in the demon and mod that. I think that would be amazing fun.

Don't forget to replace the pistons with ones that have a different top ring land location---farther down on the side. This is one of the weakest points in these engines in the core drive train, if you intend to do something other than stock. Personally, I'd stoke the thing, better pistons, forged rods, Garrett Turbo, and stand alone PCM, or a stock one reprogrammed with the appropriate fuel maps.

Oh, yah, rebuild the heads using tighter valve guides---to get rid of the tick----PERFORMANCE ENGINES DON'T TICK---PERIOD!

You are right,I misread the pump paperwork,It is 60 psi@375 gph with bypass at 75 psi,it is a 30%increase of volume over stock
