Default Been a while, so not sure if the technology has changed -

When i bought my 05 QC it had the 7 speaker infiniti system. Now my understanding is the later 04 and 05's (not sure about 06 & 07) you could not connect a head unit to the factory amp, +5v would not power it on; only a digital signal from the computer bus would turn this on -

Is this still the case; or have they developed an adapter piece? If not how did most of you get around this? I actually cut my factory amp out, and wired my head unit to only power 4 speakers, so i have 3 in the dash that are doing nothing (this was a pain)

Just wondering if there was any new info out there regarding this; since i am wasting 3 speakers and the factory amp is just collecting dust

TIA,

Boyd

Man, never done it, but there has to be a head unit with the proper adapters to feed the stock amp and satisfy the pcm. Its just a connector at the back of the stock radio, no magic.

Check with the big auto electronics guys like Crutchfield's.
