so cummins is building a diesel for the rams and the durango's and possible the dakota's...the diesel going into the ram is a 5.6L V-8 diesel with 290hp (i think) and 460ft. lbs torque...should begin production around 2010. and way better fuel economy then the hemi with mds...said something about 20 city/25 highway

the diesel going into the durango's and dakota's is a 4.4L V-6 ( i think it's a 4.4, otherwise it's a 4.2), dont remember what the specs are for it...and i think they were looking sometime around 2010 for production time as well....

and on a side note, DCX, BMW, and GM...yes i said GM, are teaming up together to build a mild-hybrid which will be offered in the durango, GM suv's and BMW cars...GM is building the transmission for all of them...not sure on the details about this either

well i first read it on www.allpar.com website, so then i decided to do a little searching and found out alot more on www.autonews.com

if you go to that site and do a search for cummins diesel in the past 6 months you'll find the article i got the info from...pretty interesting stuff

 

Don't get too excited about the mileage. By 2010 ALL manufacturers have higher fuel mileage limits for their vehicles.

Now a diesel in a 1500 is way cool.......
