headers, you kind of need both plus intake to get the full potential though.

They only need to be torqued down like twice after you put them in. Headers are normally very easy to install if you know what you're doing.

I believe you can lose low end grunt/torque?
Is that correct?

I have heard that before but it is not true. Every fast hemi out there is packin some headers. Fact of the matter, the hemi works better when it can breathe. So headers, intake and a good exhaust are where it's at for a quick hemi.

You should not loose anything. I also agree, if you want headers you should do a full system. So...

If money is a issue right now do the cat back. Then a year or whatever down the line when money is not an issue put on some headers and high flow cats. Or like me, no cats (I have headers, no cats and a cat back on the SRT)

The only people claiming worth while HP gains are the people making the headers. I haven't seen anyone buy them, and say "wow, thats worth every dollar" This is why I haven't bothered thinking about installing headers on my truck. I figured that I would install a flowmaster for some better tone, but thats all I really got. The power might have been increased, but not a whole lot. The fuel economy didn't even really increase... not as much when I put on the CAI. I laugh every time I see a "Dynatech" system for $1400+. The article I read on that was enough for me to forget the whole idea. I think the stock manifolds flow so well, that no one has been able to greatly improve them..... even when they are small as they are. Just my $.02
