A new sound from the Hemi.
I took off the rear resonator and the stock muffler, put on a 3" cherry bomb and left the resonator off. It sounds awesome ! I was not sure what it was going to sound like but I am happy with it, VERY happy with it.
For a sound clip you:
1.Buy and expensive computer with 2 gb memory, 160 gb hard disc, AMD Athalon processer running at a 2000fsb and Xp Media Edition - $1200
2. Presonus Firepod firewire audio interface - $600
3. Nady 900 condenser mic and about 40' of XLR cable - $150 (we can go cheapo here, it's just an exhaust recording after all)
4. Sonar 5 Producer edition - $500
5. A nice set of studio reference speakers - about $500 for a decent set.
6. Back your truck up to your studio and place the Nady about 6' in a direct line with your exhaust pipe. Using Sonar record a 10-20 second clip and export audio saving as a RIFF file.
7. Use the built in MP3 converter included with XP and convert the RIFF file to an MP3 at 192 bit compression so you don't loose too much sound quality.
8. Find a host site, uplod the clip and link in a post.
EDIT: if your worried about exceeding the SPL of the mic you can always use a RANE compresser - about $400.
Now see, wasnt that easy? (LOL)

Ha, its funny you mention that. The studio I work for actually did the same thing for a motorcycle no more than a week ago. If it wasn't 4 degrees outside when we did it, it would have been a lot more fun.
Sorry. Just a little humor.
You're going to have to get a device that can record a digital sound file or record an analog file (cassette) and transfer it to digital on your computer via your line-in jack. Either way, whatever file you record will need to be converted to an MP3 format or it will be huge.
A digital memo recorder then headphone out to line in on computer.
Phone with memo recorder then send it to yourself.
MP3 player with voice memo record option.
Digicam with recording capabilities.
Laptop with an external mic.
I can't think of anything else to use. I've had a studio for a long time now so any live recording I do is pretty in-depth going through condenser mics, EQ's, compressers, tubewarmed phantom powered supplys and on and on. Then it gets processed through a computer using all different types of mastering software. I can record frogs in my back pond in the summer time and it sounds like they are right at your feet. I say all this to say, I've been doing this so long, I've forgot how to do it simply.....[sm=bangbang.gif]
