Default 1500 Mega Cab question

While at the dealer getting my P/S pump fixed I saw a 2006 Mega cab 1500. Just wondering if anyone has one how they like it. The price is almost hard to pass up. it was like 39000, but the dealer has a sticker on it for 28000 or so. Also does the Hemi in the mega cab have MDS ( I think that's what it's called) or not. It wasn't on the sticker, so I wasn't sure if it was an extra option or not.

sinceits not an 07, thenim not sure ifit has the cylinder deactivation feature. I drove an 07mega cab before I got my quad cab. It is HUGE! I felt like I was lugging around an 18 wheeler. The quad cab was much more manageable around corners and through parking spaces. Make sure whatever you get has the 3.92 gearing, its WELL worth it !!

I'm still debating on getting it. THe tires look a little small for a truck that big, but I know I could get bigger tires. Now I just have to convince the wife in getting it, and try to have her drive it...(haha)

I just got an 06 Mega Cab. I don't know about the MDF but after 3 weeks it does not feel that big any more. I have no problems parking or driving around the city. Only thing is the MPG with the HEMI. I get about 9.3 in the city and 14.5 on the highway. The owners manual says the mpg sould improve over the first 4K miles.

I'm not 100% sure about the 07, but i looked at the 06 before i bought my QC and the meg cabs did not have the MDS. The mileage is what kept me from buying it. Depending on incentives there is usuall only a couple thousand dollars different between the QC and MEga. Well worth it if you have a family or a need for the space, but you have to look past the mileage. I still sometimes wish I went with the MC. But one years payments and a trade in would suck!

Not all Hemishave MDS. If you are unsure, have the dealer verify it by running the VIN. Also consider what conditions you will be driving in, MDS has a very narrow window that it engages in and you may not see any benefit.

my 06 mega cab does not have mds. i get about 13 in town and 16 hwy. have 4500miles on it. the reason i was told for no mds is because of the weight of the truck due to length and 3/4 frame. i have 2 car seats plus wife. love the space. length didn't bother me until backing a trailer. took some getting used to after driving f-150 short bed for years. got mine for 23k plus my 94 f-150 trade.

The mega cab is built on the 2500 Frame, same suspension and axles as the 2500 Ram, And most likely dosent have MDS, MDS is not on the 2500 Gas Rams..
