call me crazy????
Yea dude nothings gonna harm your truck from that setup. You might notice a little less acceleration due to the larger tires but that doesn't mean anyhting is going to break. I do recommend regearing to 3.92 or 4.11 depending on your tire size to compensate but that has more to do with your driving style and preferences. there will be no bad consequences driving to myrtle beach and back. Now good consequences are endless. go have fun and enjoy yourself
yah, as was already stated you'll be fine but deffinitly look into buyin some new gears to help ya out in turnin them big tires....and i'd say your crazy for doin all that driving with that engine, those big tires and those gears and the gas prices how they are...yah your crazy lol
sure hope you dont calculate your gas mileage when you get back home, have fun man

Thanks for the info guys. haven't taken it out of town since I put tires on and local mechanic told me I ran the risk of blowing tranny or rear. But I'm sure one of you guys have done something like it.

The good news is that gas prices are really cheap in the Myrtle Beach area....typically 20 cents a gallon or so cheaper than the best prices here in Delaware. I suspect you will eventually wind up on I-95 as you travel south. If you do, take exit number181, about 18 miles into South Carolina from the NC/SC boarder. It's marked for Myrtle Beach (Rt. 38...then 501 south)....There are two gas stations at that exit...one Shell and one Hess....that have truly cheap prices. We have a vacation (soon to be retirement) home in Myrtle, and try to get down there every six weeks or so. If we can be of any help to you, just let us know.
Um can you give us the specs on your truck and your tire size I dunno if I missed them but I don't think you said the size of tires. Personally I think that mechanic is full of crap. blown tranny??? BS. Unless you're running like 42's on stock drivetrain there may be some risk involved but I wouldn't take stock in anything he says anymore.
