Well apparently my alternator is too weak to run my accecories. I can see my volt meter drop rapidly when the sub hits really hard, and at night all the lights drop for an instant... It is fine to run all day with, but I think I am going to need a stronger alternator. Anybody else done this already?
Most people that install a high demand audio system replace the battery with one that is designed to handle the load or they add a 2nd one. You can also add capacitors to help with the hard draw.
Go get yourself an AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery like an Optima Red Top/Yellow Top and a capacitor rated for your amp and all the problems will be solved. The stock alternator puts out 130Amps, IIRC.
If your bass is dimming your lights, you may want to look into a capacitor for your amp. I personally haven't used one, but I heard from a reliable source that they are worth it.
