Default Another sirius Question

ok im am going to be putting in an ECLIPSE headunit in my Ram within the next couple of weeks, now for my question, will i be able to hook-up the sirius to my new HU. The Eclipse is sirius radio ready. But the two connection are way different. is there anyone that makes a connection from the factory sirius to the back of the Eclipse connection. Hope this makes sense? Basically i wanna know if ill be able to use the factory Sirius with the new deck, cause i went ahead and paid 3 years in advance for the subscription.

Nope, you cant use the factory Sirius with Eclipse. Buy an Eclipse Sirius and transfer your subscription. You can use the stockSiriusantenna however.

Is Sirius pretty good about transferring the subscription that comes with our trucks if we change out to an aftermarket system?? Is the number we need on the stock HU? My Sirius was activated when I took delivery, so I know nothing about it.

mine was also, but luckily I had already had an acoount with them so they had all my information, I just called them up and told them that I bought a new truck and the dealer didnt give me any info about the sirius, stuff like my username or account #, they traced down the name on the truck, matched up my address and the dealer that sold it to me and that was it.....

they should do it for free. they want your subscription more than anything and could care less what unit you use. a while back my receiver got toasted. i got a replacement and called them up about activation. they said you can change your ESN online and that is what i did. so easy.

They transferred it over with no problems. Told them my original unit failed and I replaced it with an aftermarket. The system kept the 1 year free subscription. I just gave them the old number to look it up and transferred it to the new Pioneer system.

It's weird that they do that. I know guys who paid the $500 for a lifetime subscription on some plug-n-play radios and when they crapped out, the lifetime subscription ended with it. But I guess if you are paying (in this case DC paid) for a specific number of years in advance, then they have to honor it no matter what the ESN number is.

Has anyone who put in an aftermarket H/U gotten the wires that supposedly allow you to retain the controls on the steering wheel? If so, does it work?
