I've got the Polished 17x8 Forged 8 lug wheels off of a 2006 SRW 3500. They have some light scratches and was wondering what would be the best way to shine them back up. Are they clearcoated and therefore need to be treated as painted, or can I use aluminum wheel polish? Thanks for the help guys.

 

Don't know how to get the scratches out,but aluminum wheel polish will screw up the clear coat.

 

Yep, clearcoated... watch out.

 

I use a good cleaner wax to get any minor scratches out. Make sure the scratches you see are not under the clear coat. Dodge did not polish the wheels to mirror finish before they were clearcoated. They have a rougher polished look about them. They are bright with polished striations under the clear coat.

 

Try a fine rubbing compound on the scratches, then clean them up with a cleaner wax as above, then wax with a hard wax.
