Ok, so maybe this has been covered, but I didn't see it, and I'm new to this.

Sometimes my truck likes to die when I come to stop. It's not very convenient. Sometimes it will die right as I try to take off again... so I get a few feet into traffic and that's it... turns off, while in drive and all. It usually happens when it's cold, and the truck has been parked, I rev it down the street or out of the parking lot and then I come to my first stop.

I've been told by most dealers in my area that they've never heard of this and don't really want to take my truck in under warranty (only 18,000 miles). It's been happening since like 15,000. One dealer I called said it was a common problem, but there was no known fix. Is this true?

How cold? No truck still under warranty should just die like that. That is what the warranty is for.

Ok, not really that cold. Maybe 30 - 50? It always happens when I first get into the truck and don't really let it warm up or anything. Never happens later on down the line. When it does happen, it's always at my first stop, and sometimes my second. Usually as I'm trying to pull out of the parking lot, into the street, or backing up.

I've got an issue with my IAC freezing up all the time. So I'll go from it won't idle at all, to it apparently getting stuck partially open and having it idle at about 1500 rpm to working normal. I've got a K&N CAI and that's it. Although in the winter it does routinely hit -20F. But I've had the issue come up as warm as 0F. This is the first out of 3 winters that I've had this problem. Not entirely sure what to do. I could replace the IAC, but if the current one is freezing up, I'm guessing a new one would to.

Hey Sobo, same problem here, I just got my truck back from another visit to the dealer because this is the 5th time my truck has just stalled out while I am driving or moving from a stop. They informed me I can feel much better because they added extra tranny fluid. WTF? I was going 35 mph, slowing to turn and used a snowbank to stop since I had no steering or brakes. I told the dealer that maybe...just maybe, it is electrical or the computer itself so adding the tranny fluid did nothing for my case. I just turned 18,000 and like you when the truck is cold or just barely driven it quits and takes at least 10 twists of the key to restart. THEN it drives fine like nothing ever happened. There is no record in the computer that this has happened and sometimes all my lights and dash goes black and sometimes it stays lit up with all the bells and whistles. I am completely frustrated. I figure I'll up my life insurance. Oh, and the dealer smart guy says just put it in neutral and try to restart while rolling to get your traction back with the friction of the engine, at least you should get brakes and steering back....ok you flippin idiot, and the cars I may be crashing into will just move out of the way while I am busy cranking the car over in neutral. Im not sure how many more lives I have left for this. I am upset because I love the truck but hate this problem. I may go shopping soon...any ideas since you posted this?
