Well I was in the market for both exhaust and CAI for my 06 HEMIat same time but I have minimal time to do things so i did one at a time. First I bought the Flowmaster SI/DO Side Exits 50 Series Kit, Replaced the50 series with a more aggressive Super 40 and switched the small tips for some Magnaflow 4 inch rolled tips. Sounded awsome I couldhear and feel a difference. Then I realized that the kit only removed the rear resonator so I added a 3" power piper to replace the first one.. OMG sooo much louder like night and day and I could feel the power more too. Then next up I was pricing and comparing CAI's, I was looking at AEM Brute Force and K&N 77-Series Chrome and K&N Air Charger black. The AEMand the 77series both have smaller HP gains then the Air Charger despite their better looks (chrome), but i wanted to feel more to the wheels so I bought the Air Charger, sounds good, Might be able to notice a diff but not too crazy, might of been more noticable if i didnt get exh first.

I made my own.
I used 31/2 in. PVC piping, and an open element filter (any kind will do, but research like they said)
You can get open element filters relatively cheap if you search for them. Or even try ebay.
I cut my ori. intake tube and used a band clamp to secure it to the pvc pipe.
Extended it to fit the filter over the opening that is beside the rad. and open all the way to the ground.
I'm going to add an elbow so I can use a longer filter that faces down into that cavity. You can also wrap the tube in heat resistant wrap to keep temps down, but I didn't and it works fine.
I had a used K/N from my Stealth rt/tt and it worked fine.

I installed the K&N CAI and the Flowmaster American Thunder catback within 5 days of each other, and lets say both were a waste of money. I like the sound of the exhaust, but now truck runs like crap, bogs down at about 50 mph (no power). been to 2 different dealers and both say something is wrong with it after road test, but get back to shop and they tell me " computer says nothing is wrong" ( wanted mechanic and got Bill Gates instead). anyway claims of better mpg is crap with both lost about 2mpg after install. If it was me to do over I would buy a 70's or 80's truck and hot rod that.

Keep the single exhaust, that will run you 250$ for a Mac cat-back,and spend 210 on a air-raid CAI..Your good with both for under $500.
