Default Exhaust or CAI

Sadly, I don't have the funds forbotha K&N C.A.I.and a new dual exhaust system. Which one should I do first? I'm hoping to have the money for both by later this summer, but can only do one for now.

absolutely an exhaust. You'll see/hear the biggest difference from that -

i went with an si / do exhaust, sounds great. Got a CAI next, and didnt see much difference, although i got the two mods pretty much back to back.

The power gain from either is probably minimal, so i would go with the mean sound of an exhaust first

also when you do get anintake look around more and you will find out K&N is not the best. I just sold my Volant and ordered a true flow because I have heard MANY good things about it so do a little research before spending all that money.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll have to make an appointment at the muffler shop.

Agreed, exhaust first.
You can replace the factory paper filter with a K&N.

After installing my true flow it is by far the best CAI I have ever felt on any vehicle. If I were you I would scrap the K&N idea and get one of these. Exhaust, true flow and superchips and your truck will move. Maybe some long tube headers when money permits.

I got mine from www.premiermotoring.com for $242 and shipping was free. That's the cheapest I have seen it but some guy over on dodge truck world just got one for $216 with free shipping. I have never heard any negative things about this intake and I can tell a HUGE difference with it.
