About 2 weeks ago the water pump on the ole hot rod gave out...I replaced it. Yesterday, guess what? Leaking terrible again. Are these things that bad? I was thinging maybe my fan clutch was eating them up but it looks like it is running pretty smooth. When I took the second one off, the bearings were shot. The whole shaft moved prolly a 1/2 inch or more.

 

Did you buy a remanufactured or new. I worked there for a couple years, the remans are bad every 1 and 20 or something like that.

 

It was supposed to be new......However....2 weeks isn't worth the 60 bucks I paid for it. Fortunately it had a warranty....Next time I will be getting a dealer wp. Dude @ O'reilys said I could just get a refund. Thank goodness, I am darn tired of messing w/ this thing

 

Here is the deal. Shortly after replacing wp number two, number two blew up. I'm talking 15 miles of driving. Fortuneatly I had a bad feeling that this would happen and had already purchased a wp from the dealer. I installed it and look 1+ month later I am still truckin'. So in short if your wp goes bad, get it from the dealer. I bought this truck b/c my civic had 200k on it and the tranny was making an awful sound. But now I am well on my way to becoming a dodge mechanic.
