Default Check engine light stays on

My truck is brand new the only mod i have done is put a flowmaster 40 series duel exhaust on it. after that my check engine light came on. I took it to dodge they hooked it up and said it was the o2 sensor and replaced it. about 30 miles after the dealer it was back on again? what can I do?

Get the code that is tripping the light and then fix it. That is about all you can do.

Take it back to the dealer again. It took me two trips for them to find the cause of my check engine light coming on in my new Ram. What it takes is a good tech who is willing to put in the time to chase down whatever the problem is.

Do you know the code?

If not, take it to an autozone and they will read it for free.

mine just came on last week saying EGR and they thought it was the o2 sensor....they replaced all the sensors and still had a light...finally got it fixed today turns out their was a missing seal in the "emmisions system" works fine now another thing that will trip an EGR code is your gas cap make sure its tight....sounds wierd but it happened to mine too, take it in and have the code checked and if its an EGR have them pressurize your system.....good luck

one of the guys from work said since I put the flowmaster on, the engine computer is not set up from the facory with duels and is not getting all that back pressure? so its the computer that needs to be adjusted? I know I sound like a dumb ***, but I have no clue about these new engines

My '04 ram has tripped the Engine Light twice now. It seems to happen, for me, when I start it up, and just move it, then shut it off. Like it is fouling the plugs almost...my guess a sensor instead. Irritating nonetheless.

I think your friend is taking a WAG...(Wild A$$ Guess)! Hundreds of us have installed cat-back duals without tripping the check engine light. The only way to know what the problem is will be to determine what the code is and have the dealer fix it. Your truck, being new, is under warranty....and it won't cost you a dime.
