Default Newbie with Questions

Well I am the proud owner of a new 2006 1500 MEGA CAB SLT 4X4 5.7 HEMI as of one week I love the truck so far it was the last 06 on the lot so I got it pretty cheap. I have a couple of questions, what exactlyare the differences between the 1500 and the 2500 and what are the tow rating on the 1500 I wouldn't think they would be much different than the 2500 since they have the same running gear but I am probably wrong. If someone knows the answers I would love to hear them. Thanks in advance.

There are significant differences. For example:

1500 Laramie QC Short Bed with 5.7 Hemi = 8600 lbs towing capacity.

2500 Laramie QC Short Bed with 5.7 Hemi = 13,350 lbs towing capacity

3500 Laramie QC Short Bed with Cummins Diesel = 16,100 towing capacity.

It's not only the engine that's important, but the suspension, frame and transmission as well.

I have aMEGA CABnot a QUAD CAB. From whatI have read the 1500 is built on the same frame, engine, andaxles as the 2500. So what are the differences between the two to make one a 1/2 ton and the other a 3/4 ton?

All the mega cab 4 x 4's have solid front axels. I might have to go to the stealership and get them to explain the differences.
