Default Changing Gears

I am looking to do a gear swap on my 03 ram 1500 Hemi. It currently has the 3.92 setup and I am looking at a 4.10 ratio. The reason for the swap is for some more power when pulling my trailer.

Are there any issues I need to be aware of in doing this change?

How much will it potentially affect my day to day MPG?

How difficult is the istall? I have done this on older vehicles, but am not sure what has changed over the years reagarding special tools and such.

What is the best place to get my gears from?

Thanks in advance for the info and advice!!!

There is going to be very little difference swapping from a 3.92 to a 4.10. Depending on how much highway driving you do it would be better to go with 4.56's. I still get the same gas mileage with mine...better in the city and worse on the highway above 70 mph.

Ive got 4.10s and pull my 8.5x20 haulmark around pretty easily. I got them from the guy who runs www.3rdstrike.biz good guy! I would have gotten 4.56s but that seemed to drastic for me and I do lots of hwy driving so my mileage may have been effected. I am getting right around 17 with my 4.10s, and just got 14.9 pulling the haulmark to Denver and back.

Personally I think if you go to 4.10's you're going to feel like you wasted your money. The 4.56's are a great swap and I still get 17 hwy which is what I got before I did the swap.

Thanks for all of the info guys. Another quick question: If I do the swap on the rear gears, will I need to do the fronts as well since it is 4WD? Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I just want to make sure I get everything I need so that I can do it all at once. If I do have to do the fronts, will they be the same gears as the rear, or will they be reverse?

Thanks for all of the help!!!
