Cool, thanks dean. To answer your question is superchips worth it. Well, after my dyno run I would have to say it is. Since this is my first vehicle I had that was worth fooling with I went crazy and just started buyingmods to make up for my lackluster teenage years which consisted offix, repair, rig, repair. I learned my lesson that throwing things at the engine doesn't make HP. It's which ones you use and how you use them. That said, I would recommend superchips or gears as the most simple big bang for your buck. Unless you have 4x4 gears can get expensive (labor).

As for my dyno run I wasn't happy with the numbers even a bit confused. My first run (nosc)was crap cause the AFR was way way off, so with my current mods I was getting less than stock results max hp 248.7 at 4991 and max tq 273.9 at 3688. Really disappointed with the tq here. Put in superchips at the performance setting stock limits and got hp 262.1 at 4983 and tq 292.9 at 4307. Still not impressed, but maybe I don't know any better. Remember, I never did this before. Third pull showed a little lower results. Don't know why, but I remember the guy saying lets try going to 5200 rpm. For some reason it just isn't making power after 5k. I'm guessing mabe it's the limiter? Anybody?
Last pass was the best pass and I think it was the way he did the run. He held the rpm at the bottom of second (or third) gear and let'er rip through the upshift, but not pushingthe rpm all the way up after the shift. It made hp 316 and tq 492.9 at 3368 / 47.8mph. Now somebody tell me if these numbers are BS.

These runs were on a Mustang MD250. The OD was off and all these numbers are supposedly at the wheels. Mustang correction factors drop these results by about 10. I currently have airram intake, long tube headers, exhaust, and superchips. I ran on stock wheels and tires. And, of course like a dumbass rookie to hotrodding, I didn't get a baseline before the mods.

it was a second gear run from the sounds of it. im amazed to be honest as i thought 2nd gear runs will show LESS horespower not more. you wouldnt happen to have the dyno graph would ya? \
looks like im gettting some headers!

Oh, don't be quick to get those headers. For me those headers leaned me out. Superchipssort of fixed that though. It's nowa point rich. Ahhh the graph. For some reason the graph numbers are way different than the "horsepower curve test results" cranked out by the dyno. This is consistant for all of my runsTo be honest, I don't know what I'm looking at anymore. Maybe some of you guys could tell me what's up. Anyway, here are the two dyno sheets from the last run. This is the best pic of the graph I could get. At the bottom of the graph it says max hp is 243 (red) and max tq is 373 (blue).

...what mods do you have and how do they compare to my numbers..335.4 hp/332.9 tq ... these numbers were before I installed the headers...

...as for a 6.1 cam install...I've done and been involved with 5 installs. I've found that pullin the heads are the easiest way to change the springs/retainers an stuff...if your doin it all (cam, springs etc)...count on it bein an all day job (I bs'd alot tho thru the installs)...you'll need torent a chrysler specific harmonic balancer puller, hav an air impact wrench, inch pound tq wrench....metric sockets/tools. You'll also need engine oil and coolant as you will be replacing them....

also, when i dynoed...we dynoed 12 other rams..the tq numbers you have compare to one of our trucks that sprayed and anSRT10...so I'm not really buyin into those tq numbers...

Again, here are my mods. Airram intake, Dynatech LT's, 3 in 2.5 dual out straight through exhaust and superchips. These would not compare to your numbers, because I dynoed with all these mods and, according to your sig, you still had more mods than myself. Also, what dyno did you use.Inertia and eddy current dynosyield totally different results. Your numbers looks pretty good (before headers) and I'm assuming you already had in a cam.
Yeah, I'm not too sure about my dyno results either. With almost 500 tq you'd think something would break (stock driveline). I think that dude screwed up my dyno run. Another set of my dyno sheets show 280 tq and 250 hp on the graph and the "calculation" reads 292.9 tq and 262.1 hp atthe wheels. The graph for this run actually looks normal. What do you think of these numbers too low, too high, about right? Do you think there is something wrong with my engine/mods or should I just go and find someone else to dyno?
