Default removeable soft rollup tonnaue

I have a Dodge Ram 2500 Quad cab with an 8 ft cab and I want to get a soft rollup cover but there are times when I need every inch of the bed to haul motorcycles. Most rollups take up 6 or so inches at the cab-end of the bed. Is there a that doesn't use any bed space at the cab end? Thanks for any input.

I think there are but I live in a part of the country where I can't go out and look at these them. No one keeps them in stock and I have to order it in. It's really hard to tell how these things are framed up by looking at pictures on the internet. Does anyone have one that takes up little or no space at the cab end?

For the past several trucks I've owned, I have purchased and used Extang soft roll-up tonneau covers. They've provided very good service at a reasonable price. When rolled up, I don't believe they would interfere at all with carrying motorcycles in your bed...and if you wish, they can be un-snapped and removed completely. Many after-market vendors carry them. Search the net for the best price. The last one I purchased (Extang Black) for my 07 Ram was less than $200, shipping included.

I got mine for my 05 Ram 6ft bedout of Summit racing and I love it. It is the kind which has a lip on the tonneau cover which slips into the groove that is on the rails. I got it cause I didn't like the reliability of the velcro and am not a big fan of the snaps since they rust and typically tear. It was a LeBra...and I think it was only ~$150. takes about 15 minutes ot install and takes only 5 minutes to roll up so I can fit my bike in the bed of my truck and about 5 minutes to put it back in place. Hope this helps

I got my soft tonneau from www.truckcandy.com. I went with the Extang Full Tilt. It's a little bit of everything, tilt lets you have easy access to the bed for most everything. You can unsap it and roll it up like most soft covers. but the nice part is, one person can take the whole cover, railsand all off, and just the mounting hinge is left, allowing the bed to be 100% accessible. Had experience with other soft covers and so far this is the best compromise i've owned.

I had one on a work truck that was neat. It was all metal and rolled up like a garage door. As long as it stayed lubricated it worked great but a little dirt or trash in the tracks would make life hell. Closed it was very secure and you could stand on top of it.
EDIT: Whoops. Didn't see you needed that extra 6 inches. That's what I get for skim reading.

Here's mine which is Extang as well...http://www.extang.com/docs/saber.html. Had it three years and going strong. It'll roll up and sit on top of the front of the bed. In the winter it stakes ome doing to reinstall over the bed. A little space heater under the cover makes it go a lot faster/easier.

X2, the Extang RT roll up tonneau is great, just flaps in the breeze too much. I'm saving up for the new one that came out, still soft and roll up but locks into notches down the rails so it doesn't flap.
