06 1500 4wd vibrations
My truck has a wicked vibration when in 4wd and under power, load or acceleration. The more the pedal is pushed , the worse it gets. So, worse case scenario, truck in 4wd towing my sleds uphill! Which incidentally, is one of my main considerations when I bought the truck, to tow my sleds!
I took it to the dealer yeaterday with a complaint of vibrtations in 4wd under acceleration. This is what the repair order said when i picked it up. "Road tested vehicle and verfied concern (so they felt it too), raised vehicle and inspected front end, found vehicle operating as designed, no repairs performed."
The service advisor I spoke with on the phone told me that the vibration is due to the design of the front end, that Chrysler is aware of it, that the only way to fix it would be to re-design the front end, that they are considering it normal operation and that there is no fix for it!!!
I guess I missed the section in the sales brochure and the salesman's explanation about the 2006 4wd system/front end vibrating when used normally! Is it just me or would this information influence your purchasing decision and the amount to be paid for the vehicle?
So now I have a truck that vibrates so badly under the right conditions, ie: towing in 4wd uphill, that it shook the coffe right out of the cup in the cupholder! My intentions are to approach the dealer with information I have been researching regarding the NYS Lemon Law and see what they want to do.
I really like the Dodge otherwise, but this condition to me is something that if I had known about, would have precluded me from purchasing the truck.
Anybody else out there have this issue?

rotested, I have the same HUGE problem!!! Dealer that I bought this truck from just tell me to hold on for a fix--yea right. I figured maybeI could find something on my own, so I jacked up the front end and removed the tires and spun the rotors while watching the cv joints and axles between them spin,The axles actually do not spin strait-It dosn't seem that the shafts are not straight or loose but looks to be a bad design of the cv joints, You need to try this and see the weird wobble of them. I even tried putting jack stands under the knuckles and letting the jack down to simulate normal ride height(to put cv's and axles at normal angles)and it still does it. I tried this on a different brand truck and did notsee this problem. I also would not have bought this truck had I known of this.Awesome truck other than this problem, starting to look at dumping it at a loss. Sure wish I had my old truck back that I traded in on this ram. Here is a link to this problem that I posted on another forum.
