RE: had fun wife not happy
that pic of the polaris reminds me, the other day me and my bud went riding 4 wheelers at my deer lease. we rode all over and found a lot of deep water, but not anything that we couldnt get through in 2wd (cuz were badasses lol) so we rode around to the south end of the lease where ive never been before and found a spot that was just horrible. no bottom to it at all. my bud went over it first in 2wd because it didnt look bad until you got into it. he got through it so i decided to pull into it in 2wd and powerbrake it. as soon as i hit the gas, the back of my 4 wheeler sank so that the racks were up to about my ankles. put it in 4x4 and the front sank too. we both managed to get through it once but every other time we had the other pull us out. and it was damn tough to get out of there too. next time ill have to bring a camera so i can throw some pics of it up here. hopefully by summer time ill have my 27 inch mudlites and some lockers on it and i wont be getting stuck anymore.

That's stuck! I was in swamp water that deep once. The fan did a good job of soaking the engine.
Also, early this winter before the skidoo trails were ready, I decided to take my son with me for a try out. Rough ride for sure, but then I found a swamp under the snow. The front end was deep in the mud. I tried to back out but mud just went flying. All I could think of was, a tow truck won't even get in here... they're all 2wd duallies around here. So, I thought to go through it. It worked but only got worse and I knew there was no way out the other end, so as soon as I hit a level spot I turned around. So after stirring up all the muck, I had to go faster back through it, right up to the lights, ripped the liscence plate off, but we were out.
I was hoping the wife wouldn't notice until it was washed up and plate back on, but a couple 'helpful' people pointed it out to her, so she asked me where I was.
Truth hurts sometimes, but... I like to live inside the house.
As soon as I put it in 4x4 she gets worried now. "Is he going to do something stupid?"
#1. Don't take your wife.
#2. Make buddies with a guy with a 4x4 tractor and a winch.
#3. Tell her you're going to the show and then the car wash... then bring it back clean.

I was cruzing two days ago in our polaris ranger and i sunk it to the frame. We tried other 4 wheelers to get it out and even a 2WD truck but it didnt budge. So we gave in and got a 4x4 muddy and yanked it out. The last time I got the ranger stuck it was a mess. We had 2 tractors, a 4x4 truck, 2 4 wheelers all stuck trying to get the ranger out. 4 hours later and a tow truck we were out.
P.S. If you know the tow truck company owner it helps. Only 75 bucks to yank all the stuff out.
