i just got a dodge 4.7
OOPS!: After researching a bit more, the 3.21's are now made available in the short bed 4.7L's now, but I don't know if they were an option in 03-04 like our trucks. I have a 03 4.7 and it had 3.55's.. Sorry to doubt you
I'll shut up now!

No, I'm pretty sure you are more knowledgable about 3rd gen Ram's than I am, I'm pretty new to them. I've only had mine since Christmas. I love everything about it except that I don't have a 4x4 model and no limited slip or lock dif. To me, it seems very important to have that (standard) on a full-size truck, with its lightweight rear-end and especially 2WD models that could use the traction. 2WD's that don't have a dif lock are 1WD's in my book (for off-road practicality and purpose).
Believe me I know what you mean! I drove around for almost 2 years before adding the Auburn posi unit, and I wheeled it with the open diff, it was not pretty. A locking diff should definately be standard equipment on a full size, I don't know why it isn't, but hopefully before they do make it standard, they will come out with a factory system that doesn't fail. (referring to the c-clip problem)
Well the trucks that do come from factory with the DCX 9.25" Anti-spin diff (Yours is also the DCX 9.25" diff., just open) have been having extensive problems with their C-clips failing. This C-clip is coming loose and falling into the gears which is scarring the gears and causing heavy damage. I have heard of a lot of the guys actually getting the entire rear end swapped out under warranty because the shards of metal are getting down into the axel housings and scarring the axels as well.
Of course you don't have to worry about this problem if you have an open diff. because you don't have the c-clips.

Well I guess it's actually a better thing that I don't have the optional anti-spin eh. And all this time I was complaining lol. Do the 4x4's have the same dif and problem?
