Default Exhaust

Hey everyone. I just bought an '02 2500 w/5.9 gas engine. Still has factory exhaust, unforunately. I need more noise.. lots more noise. Any suggestions? I'm not really into the whole idea of spending 300-500 on an exhaust system, since last time I did that with my F150 I wound up with a Flowmaster that sounded like sh*t.

I know very little of exhaust, and just want to know if there's any way (besides removing the cat.. I'm in an emissions testing state)to get this thing to sound monsterous without spending a large amount of dough.

I know.. it's like asking for ways to increase HP and up MPG. But there's gotta be SOMETHING I can do.. right?

Thanks

"Welcome to D.Forum. "

Thanks

I went to a muffler shop today, he wanted to put a Flowmaster muffler in there, and run dual pipes from there for $310. I doubt that's the best that can be done. He had a dodge that sounded like a tank, but it was highly illegal here, as we are a state of hippies.

I want something absolutely obnoxious. I wanna make babies cry.... I wanna do it cheaply. HA! And I want my cake and to eat some of it too.

"Get an Aero Turbine Muffler and dump it "

I've been searching this forum, but I'm not able to determine exactly what is meant by "dumping it". There was a guy on here who thought he knew what it meant, but wasn't sure. So.. I'm still clueless.

dumping it means to have a short turndown tip exiting the rear of your muffler, hence it's "dumped" right after the muffler and no pipes exiting out of the rear
