2007 HEMI reverse problems
I've experienced this too. Sometimes I think that the shifter is not so user friendly and I'm missing R just barely. If I give it a little jiggle, it seems to pop into gear. Seems like there's a sensitiveity issue to me. However, after reading this thread, I'm thinking about taking her in and seeing what the stealership has to say.
I had it happen twice and both times I blamed myself on shifting too fast without paying attention. The second time it did this was over a thousand miles ago si I think I by paying attention the problems solved itself.
hey guys,
just bought a 2007 hemi quad cab 2wd,bought the truckwith 52 miles and it pops out of reverse all the time, the truck now has 450 miles and continues to pop out of reverse, let me know if anyone gets the dealer to fix it.

i'd definately take it to the dealer and make them at least look at it, i'm sure you havent done anything to void the warranty with that few of miles on it. If they won't tell you anything, take it to a reputible tranny shop or put it up on some jack stands and do a filter and fluid change, while you have the pan off check for any metal shaving or look for anything just just doesnt quite look right
I had it happen once. I figured out that when I shifted from drive to reverse, the selector lever wasn't all the way to reverse (too much of a hurry i guess). The indictor said reverse, but the gear was in neutral. after I bumped the selector and felt it go fully into reverse it worked fine. Haven't had trouble since.
Knowing Chrysler's reliance on the computer and how they control their tranny's I would say the computer needs a full diagostics ran. This is generally where the issue lies with thier tranny's and anything else for that matter. I always have them pull a complete diagnostics and give me the print out. They will also update your code while they do this if they have a new version out and you are having issue's. Or at least reload it. They have to hook up to it anyway so get them to do it right.
10k miles on mine and it does it every morning. Seems that after it's sat a little while it does it. I put it in reverse and make sure it's in. I the step on the gas and get nothing. After about 3 - 4 seconds, it slowly goes into reverse. Just one more problem to add to the list.........
This post makes me feel much better about my truck. Only had the it stall on me twice in reverse. Then after a WOT run through 1st and 2nd(just playing around on getting onto I75) after I shut shut down at my next stop and then restarted to leave, my check engine light came on and I was locked out of 1st, 2nd, and OD. I could shift to them, but the truck stayed in 3rd. Needless to say I had to drive home (about 15 miles) in 3rd only. Amazingly enough, the truck ran real good in just 3rd, other than sucking alot of gas. Got home, checked and cleared codes, hasn't done it again.
Oh, did I mention my Hemi has under 2000 miles.....

I've had similar problems on my 07 with less than 3k on it. Seems to just pop out of reverse gear into neutral but the gear selector disappears... no neutral, drive, nothing. It's happened a handful of times since I've had it. I'll be taking it to get checked out shortly. Something like this shouldn't just happen daily to everyone.
