Vibration/Rumbling ?
I have a 07 1500 SLT TRX4 that since day 1 hashad a rumbling feel at 60mph and up.
The dealer has replaced the front tires and the rear rims. Still got it.
Anybody out there have any thoughts on this.

do a search in this forum, you will find thatseveral 06+ ram 1500 owners
are plagued with unresolved vibration troubles. majority seem to be minor.
mine goes in next weds. for its 3rd visit for this.

I work at a dealer, and there is a problem with a vibration usually on the highway. The lower control are bushing are to soft causing the control arms to bunce slightly. There is updated bushings out now for this concern. I have replaced 1 set and the owner was very pleased he said it got rid of about 80% of the vibration. also needs a wheel align to adjust the camber this should help
chadmech,
thanks for that info
do you know if there is or will be a tsb for that ?
i would like to mention that when i drop the truck off
btw, are the service writers trained to say"are you sure?, youre the 1st customer
to complain of any vibration or trouble with an 06+ram 1500"
kinda makes me chuckle each time i here it.
thanks
Josh

The Tsb # is 02-001-07 REV A this has been there since mar 31 07. Chrysler is aware of this is and is trying to adress the issue this tsb should get rid of most of the vibration in the front end. I'm not sure if it will be fixed in 08 I sure hope so. Let me know if this helps

That's good to know, i talked with my dealer today, said the Road force balancing showed the tire/wheels were out of balance. They removed all 4 tires, remounted them, balanced then rotated. Service writer road tested before & after & felt the difference, when i picked up thetruck
there was a wall of traffic so couldn't get it up to speed. will test in AM & report back.

well my truck just went into a different dealer yesterday.
no good results or fixes.
i stated 2 seperate troubles
1 developed a shimmy in the steering wheel mostly felt on highway.
2 the same vibration thru the seats and body at highway speeds 65 and up, that ive had since day 1
well they 1st suggested the tires need balance and rotate, i then told them that had been done twice already at
2 other dodge dealers under warranty. they have previosly road forced balanced all tires , and they are all decent.
so they checked service records to verify this, so they road tested again, and then told me the alignment is off.
and is causing the tires to cup and shimmy/vibration in the ride. so they did an alignment and said its all set.
I notice zero difference--must have been off a very minor amount.
they also informed me that they cannot road test a vehicle over 60mph, so they cannot verify my highway vibrations.
this seems odd, as the last dealer it was at (in NC - i live in MA) verified the vibration and stated that driveshaft needed
to be checked and balanced.(was a saturday and they hadnt time to do it--and i was on a road trip)
also i gave them that tsb-- that was a no go-- they pulled it up on their computer and that tsb is to address brake pulsation
on 4x4 rams--they had no clue about new bushings or anything.
any recomendations?
I have another road trip planned in about 5 weeks, and would prefer to not have a vibrating new truck for the whole ride.
can some one tell me how to check the driveline angles myself?
and i will just pull the shaft and have it balanced myself.
thanks
Josh
