do a search there is tons of info on cai. its personal preference. how much you want to spend? you want fancy chrome look or suttle look? they all have similar if not the same gains. i got the volant because i got a good deal but i wouldnt have bought it its normal price tag. i also chose it because it is very suttle being that its black plastic and looks good under the hood almost like its stock( i personally hate chrome look )

depends on your budget, you can go top of the line airraid, k and n, etc, or get a ebay kit and put a k and n on it, but you'll the sound of all of them

i just put an afe in mine. its the only one i found that really moved the filter away from hot air. most of em just move it to the passenger fender which i personally dont believe gets far enough away from engine heat. the afe puts the filter next to the radiator and windshield coolant. the instructions were eh. but after i figured it out, it was quick. mannnn do i love the sound it makes

i just put on an airaid. of course, i got a hell of a deal (50.00 from a friend who had it a month) but i agree with the other guys, its all about what you want to spend. hell you can make your own and slap a k&n filter on it and call it a day...if you go chrome or stainless, it'l keep the incoming air cooler but give your engine bay a nice gotti look to it. if you go with plastic, the air will get a little hotter but maintain the nice stock look. its really your call. pick your destiny. lol

my volant takes air from the stock location, basically just replaces the restrictive air baffle on top and accordian tubing. also the plastic is always cool to the touch after a long drive. never really gets hot. i think the plastic refelcts heat the same if not better than the stainless and aluminum tubing.

From what I've seen the Volant didn't replace the Hemi Cap which is the restriction. It appeared that Volant was just a pretty fancy air filter holder! I just stuck in a K&N and gutted my Hemi cap out for free.

Word to the wise....CAI are the number 1 cause for warranty failure! Mine looks stock and you'll never tell otherwise. I have never been a fan of open air filters as I regularly dousch my engine off when I wash my truck!

how doesnt the volant replace the hemi hat dirtydog??? the hemi hat comes off completely. a tube goes right from the throttle body to the filter into a new airbox. the new airbox has a intake tube that goes to right under the the headlight area. and also it takes all of 5 minutes to put the stock intake back on before you go in for warranty so there is no warranty failure.
look at that pic dirtydog where is the hemi hat, air baffle?????
