well i got bored today and saw rssjib's home made intake and thought to myself I WANT ONE!!.. lol but i wanted a bigger one so i went out to lowes and bought me a 2'x4" pvc pipe and 2, 90 degree angles and 3, 4" couplers and a 4-3" reducer. and went to advance auto and got me an AEM 4" clamp on dryflow air filter (been wanting one for a while) and heres what i got...

it sounds a lil better, the cheapie intake sounded kinda ratty and felt like it wasnt getting enough air, the new intake gets plenty of air has a little bit more mid range and you can hear the exhaust better, not much louder tho

 

dam i need to build one i have the same intake you had but i put a k&n on the end. wonder if going to 3' pipe will do any different?

 

oh yea forgot you had exhaust, in that case you prolly wouldnt be able to truly hear it.

 

yeah i had a K&N on mine too but still didnt perform well, and im pretty sure the 3" piping will be sufficient i just wanted bigger and yeah the exhaust is pretty loud, so yeah cant hear it as much as if i didint

looks really good if u didnt say pvc i dont hink anyone woulda noticed....i dont think depot and lowes carries 3" pvc dont mark my words but last i looked i dont think they did maybe it was 3.5" i was looking to extend my intake i bought off ebay for my 99 sport and couldnt find the same size pipe....
