Default Need honest answer about Superchips programmers

Superchips claim that there programmer adds an additional 17.8 hp to the hemi , is this true and will it be something that I can tell the diffrence or are the changes so small that it is not even worth it. I have an 2008 5.7 hemi and just wanting more out of it , I'm already looking into CAI as well ,just wanting to hear everyones opinions. thanks

I finally got the performance tune on my truck. To be honest with you, BUY IT!!! the cost isn't much more than a CAI, and i can absolutely assure you that the gains and benefits of a SC are far greater than a CAI can even come close to. Even if you don't run the performance tune, the trans and shift point mods are fantastic, CAIs and catbacks can't do that.

I bought a magnaflow exhaust right after I got the truck, and I would now recommend getting the tuner before any CAI or catback.

Even if you got 0 HP gains out of it, the improvements to the transmission shifts are worth the price alone. But yeah, from all the data I've seen, the numbers are not only right, but are actual, in other words measured at the Rear Wheel, the only place it matters.

It is definitely a worthwhile purchase. The advertised power gains can be felt as soon as you drive the truck after programming it. And on top of that the truck will also shift much better than stock with the tune installed.
