Default a/c ,cold air not coming inside cab!, (heat works fine)

today i found other problem with my truck that i have purchased,
the a/c is not running right,
i turn a/c on, normal air comes in (not cold at all)
i look under the hood at compresor to see if the center wheel spins, (yes)

,but on passanger side from the cab to the front there is a pipe that goes under the fender little , so that pipe from the cab is cold ice,but half way under the fender to the front is not ice anymore, hmmm, whats going on!!!,,same pipe half cold and half normal? (regular outside air)

anyone,,any clue?

thanks

Check that your AC condenser fan is running and spinning.
It's the small radiator to the right of the large coolant one standing from the front of the truck.
ANY time the AC is switched on, this fan should and must be spinning fast.
Have a look and post up what you find and we will take it from there.
Al.

^^^^^^

Agreed, we see quite a bit of this. Most guys will come in saying the same or that it is cold when they drive but not when they park. All are symptoms of the AC condenser fan not working. If it isnt spinning try disconnecting the electrical harness and jumping 12v from the battery to the fan and see if it kicks off.

If so then check the fuses. If not then replace the fan.

If yuo find it to be the fan then try this thread also

How long does the compressor spin? It should be awhile. Start at your compressor with the ac on. The line going to your condenser right beside your raditator should be too hot to touch very long. After the condenser it should be normal. Then it will hit the Orpheus tube which causes the gas to expand and cool. Then it will be cold an pass into the fire wall to the evaporator and then out to the drier then back into the compressor.

If the fan is working and the compressor is running a good amount of time I would find someone to hook a set of gauges to it and check the high and low pressures.

It may be your blend doors in the cab. They may not be blocking the air from going through the heater core and making the air hot.

I was going to say the same. Get a gauge (even if it is a walmart gauge) and see what your pressure level is for freon. It could just be that you are low. I had to add 2 cans over the summer to my wifes Mini and one can to my rig.

Hate to revive threads but, what fuses and/or relays should one be looking for when diagnosing a fan failure?
My dads truck has the same symptom as stated in weeda's post. And I have confirmed it.
I've tried turning it when the AC is on and it won't kick over. I have also pressed on all fuses and relays in the PDC, all to no avail.

*EDIT*
BTW, forgot to mention this but, the compressor cycles on/off at idle.
The lines going into the coils are also VERY HOT. Like "You will get a 2nd degree burn if you hold this line too long" hot.
The compressor almost behaves as if it is VERY low on Freon.
