06 hemi w/mds oil question

Just to give you an idea on how sensitive the MDS system is....I use 5w-30 because I tried to rid the Hemi tick and ONLY because I have the MDS turned of via handheld tuner and the dealer showed me the diagnostic code report when i went in for service on my Instrument cluster. It showed a stored DTC code for incorrect oil weight that only shows up on the Dealers tuner.
Use ONLY 5w-20, 5w-20 or your mds will not function properly and your dealer will know you have the incorrect oil type.
Brand doesn't matter, nor does Synthetic or conventional. 5w-20 is 5w-20 regardless what anyone says. Oil is rated by Viscosity and is how it gets labeled it's weight.

Hmm, I wonder how the PCM senses the different oil viscosity. I bet putting in any kind of cleaner or additive really screws that up. I wonder if it can sense if you put in lighter weight than specified.
With that said I pretty much use 5w20 in just about everything, Its almost the perfect oil weight. Heck I even use it in my garden tractor, Saves from having to purchase different oils. In fact I have a 50 gallon drum of 5w20 Mobile 1 synth in my garage.

I use Royal Purple 5w-20
You have a $700 barrel of oil in your garage? Even if you change your oil every 3,000 miles that'll last you like 85k.

Actually it ran me $360+/-, Would of costed less, But I chose to have it delivered. And I change the oil on more than my truck, As I stated I use 5w20 synthetic for everything. Lasts me roughly a year per drum if I try to stretch it. As a plus I find the waste oil burns very clean in my 150,000btu waste oil heater.
