Has there been any RRT's for the 5.7L 4x4 Crew Cab Sports? I got about 10 of them down back a couple months ago. I gotta take my truck into the dealership again for a TPS sensor and try to get warranty for it.

I have noticed that RRT's, the dealer willingly does those for you and looks them up the whole enchilada same for Recalls in fact recalls you get mail on those ones, TSB's are not told to the customer you have to come in and complain about the problem and they take care of it on that TSB. They always says if customer complains.........do blank to fix it. RRT's you notice are always like a .2 hour meaning 10 minutes they get paid for so of course they will do the RRT's right in the service bay most times or just outside the service bay so the starscan or W1 or whatever the latest way to force the customer into the dealer.

Top Gun,

Thanks for your info. I have that ticking nose ever so often, especially during cold start in cold weather. Stealership told me it was something to do with the valve train hemi setup and would eventually go away with break-in. It went away for the most part when I added a treatment of Zmax. Still hear it every now and then. Good to know it's not really in the powertrain afterall.

Usually they are small updates to eliminate or correct a potential issue providing the customer with a better overall ownership experience with their vehicle. They also are applied to the production run so trucks built after a certain date will already of had the update done at the factory.

There is a genuine recall though for the wiper motor and that is on the Dodge site. A very low number of early 09's were in that group.
There were a few recalls, I got the one about the wiper motor, also the heater switch or flash for it was a recall was it not?

Not sure what the rules are about posting internet addresses, so sorry if I broke them.

Anybody know anything about this? Might this have anything to do with that annoying shudder?

Nope - that has to do with pinion nuts backing off and the diff sucking the pinion into the carrier.

Ah, thanks. That doesn't sound like fun, though.

Default 2009 Ram 1500 5.7 L HEMI

I have been dealing with a "cold engine ticking sound" for the first 30 -60 sec upon starting of the motor. This problem has started around 50,000 miles until current 62,000. I took the truck to the dodge dealership and found out that the problem was leaking exhaust manifolds / broken bolts on the exhaust manifolds. I have a 2009 ram 1500 SLT Bighorn pkg- and apparently my truck had a RRT- Rapid Response Transmittal out for this (different than a Recall- Recalls are sent out to the owners, RRT's are only known issues if the vehicle is brought into the dealer) Anyways, I had an RRT for the Known ticking problem, so the dealership replaced the stock exhaust manifolds / gaskets, had to tap out 4 broken exhaust manifold bolts and also my truck had defective driver / passenger mirrors- (water gets into the lights and burns the lights out / turns the lens black) so i had FREE of charge also, both mirrors. Also apparently the RRT covered the tailgate spoiler (plastic cover) b/c it had a known defect of coming off easily- So i got that replaced as well. Hope this helps anyone. Take your truck to your dealer if you are having this problem and have them run your vehicle info in their database to see if there is any known RRT's or Recalls !!!
