Show Us Your Leveled/Lifted 4th Gen 2wd
Thanks for the information guys.
Here is my question: I have a quad cab, 2wd, with the 5.7. Went to my local accessory shop yesterday to talk about leveling out my truck. The day star 2.5 was his recommendation.
From what I have read, this will probably be the answer for me, however I am worried about my ride changing. How much will this change? Also will I need to change the shocks? I can't imagine it changing that much while only adding 2.5 in extensions on the coil springs.
FYI, the techs at the shop say that leveling kits never run true. Normally they are a 1/4 to a 1/2" less than expected.

To me as far as ride on a highway, it is still great, BUT, when the pavement has a hole or drop off, the tire reacts different than it did before, it rebounds faster than it did, so you feel the jerk of the suspension, more than before the spacer, the reason is, the spring is compressed more to get the body to raise up, the 4WD's put in spacers and it is confusing, they are actually moving the mounting spot of the spring lower, and in some cases move the other stuff as well, ours is compressing the spring in order to push the control arm to the desired height.
I like the 1.5" kit, It maintains a little rake but gets rid of the overexaggerated rake from the factory. I don't care about what it measures from front to back as it usually appears front high when it is level in measurement, plus put 100 lbs in the back of a perfectly level truck and its going to squat the rearend.
