Upset with Dodge's ability to provide a product as ordered in a timely fashion
On March 28 I ordered a 2010 Ram 1500 to replace my 2008. It is a Laramie addition fully loaded except for the rear DVD, my parrot sits in the back and does not need to watch movies as we travel.
I ordered a monotone paint job as I like black and sorry to offend anyone, but in my opinion, the two tone sucks big time. I like the look of a SLT with the Laramie options.
I ordered one, and the build sheet on dealer connect clearly shows a credit for wheel flares.
The truck was in production June 26th; only thing is that it did not ship till July 1st instead of the scheduled June 28 ship date. The truck sat in “I” status at the Warren facility as it seems they installed wheel flares. The truck arrived at the dealer today; it is so hideous with these flares as they are the only thing that is not chrome or black on the truck. Dealer advised that they can be removed with minor work.
Is this true, or does the dealer just not want to get stuck with an UGLY truck?

I had those ugly things on my TRX 4 and I removed them with-in the first 3 days. And as to the very strong double sided tape BS. That is another reason I removed the flares the tape wasn't holding.
What color flares came on it? I thought monotone Laramies came with body color flares. There are pics of other colors with body color flares.

The flares were almost a beige colour. if you go to the dodge web site it shows the colours. When I purchased, the dealer said that there was no choice in the two tone or flare colours.
It will look great when they get the flares off, add the chrome trim (bug deflector, side chrome accents, gas door), spray in bedliner, vent shades, mud flaps and hard tri-fold tonneau.
THANKS TO ALL that gave the uplifting news that the flares come off easy, so much appreciated!!

Something doesn't sound right. In this thread they look like they are body colored on mono Laramies:
