Default 2010 Alpine Sub

I have two 12" lo profile pioneer subs amp and wiring kit from a previous truck, i just need a box wiring adapter for the deck.

But i dont think i want to put it in the new truck but the sub SUCKS ive read other threads and im wondering if i just replace the sub its self for a better 8". It should be the cheapest route and if all else fails i can just hook my other amp to the new 8.....lets face it 12s were awesome when i was younger but i just had them at 1/4 to 1/2 power in my last truck so i dont think i want to put both in nor lose the rest of the storage. It was OK until i got in my wifes RX8 with the bose system and it rocked, not to much like my 12s but not weak like my alpine......... Im going to call around to see if just the larger magnet and better design may help but it might need the power to back it up, ill sure to post my results.

I just ordered this box, not recieved yet. I agree the bass is terrible. I am adding just 1 10" so the bass is not so loud. The box is available in a 12" design. Have you thought of just adding 1 12???? See attached link.

I dont want to take apart the dash or put in a wiring kit in it at least this year. If i have to put in an amp and sub ill put in both my 12s with a box for the sake i own them and cant get anything for them.

found this out doing a search...........looks like the speakers are the problem with the bad sound and the amps put out the power so i may go ahead with the sub change and may change the speakers out next year if the sub kicks

I put one of these in for a friend with 2 Polk MM1040 shallow 10" subs.. Sounded great! If you decide to change out the box this might work for you as well. This is the unloaded version because the MTX subs that they supply in this box aren't up to par..

I finally finished installing all my add on's... Boston Acoustics speakers, 3 1/2 in the dash and 6 1/2 in the 4 doors... I also added a JL Audio 175 watt RMS monoblock amp with a matching JL Audio 10" sub... What an inprovement over the stock setup... I did not have the upgraded system in my 2010 TRX4. Originally I was going to swap out the head unit... No need now.
