MDS TCC Droan Shutter issues: response from Dodge
Especially after what heard from the inside. Cant forget the service rep saying its "as per design." I said so they all do it? They said "Yes". Service manager agreed, they dont all do it. Serve Rep/Dodge just keep uttering "normal, as per design." One of the managers told me they see this all the time but usually the customer just gives up and goes away. They are trained in this to stall and deny, deny, deny
Sorry, not that tranny savvy. Meaning we can ask for a fix now or have to wait for soem failure?
I'm new to this forum but have been following these posts since I bought my new 2011 Laramie back in December.
In my truck, it's really just a sound issue. It sounds crappy but I otherwise don't "feel" anything. Ya'll must be having more issues than this or just can't deal with using the slap stick to drop it into 5th gear. It helps the gas mileage and I otherwise love the truck so no big deal to me. I don't care much for what it does to the performance, especially when trying to navigate through traffic on the interstate. When I'm in that situation, I slap stick down to 5th gear and life is good again when you feel that hemi power.
By the way, my wife's car is a 2007 Chrysler 300C with the Hemi. Being a 3rd generation hemi (I think), its certainly different than my truck. It has the stock exhaust so there's no noticable difference in the sound. Doesn't kick in at the lower speeds either and yes, I know thats all by design.
Are yall having real mechanical issues or just not happy with the design of this system?

I'm just seein this thread now.. I haven't noticed what you guys are talking about.. I don't think..
If I wanted to see if my 2010 does this should I just cruise at 35-40 mph steadily and see if there is a vibration?

I hear and feel a slight vibration when the MSDS is working at high way speeds.. its like a droan.. I always assumed it was just MSDS.
Other than that, I noticed when I floor it when its in MSDS, there is a slight hestitation feeling before it kicks into passing gear.. almost like a slippage. I thought this was just the torque converter catching.
Do I have anything to worry about? I am pretty disappointed in my truck thus far so I fear the worst

Sounds normal to me. I like my truck a lot. I get a lot of looks and inquiries about it. I think it drives great. I don't give MDS a second thought and I can hear and feel mine go in and out. With stock exhaust it was just about impossible to detect.
