Default anyone have heated wiper fluid aftr market?

http://www.alphathermusa.com/

this is the new company of the now defunct "hotshot' brand wiper fluid heater....

i know hotshot/gm got into some trouble because of car fires, but i havent heard of any problems in the aftermarket. after reading everything online, it seems like the problems the cars were having were because of gm,s under engineering/cost cutting practices... (under sized some wiring)

i would love to get some reveiws off of the boards before i actually bought one...

thanks

I know that washer fluid heaters were sold by Canadian Tire for a short time, but have since disappeared from the shelves. I'm guessing that they had more problems with them than they were worth.
Heated washer fluid sounds like a great idea until the unit malfunctions and burns your truck to the ground.

Thanks for the link. A buddy of mine was just talking about how Chevy wanted to take his out on recall and give him $100 instead. He just ordered one of their GM direct fits to replace it.

Old thread, but I've seen a few ads for these recently. I'm considering one. Anyone with current experience?

I'd be afraid of spraying hot fluid on the windshield at -15F (or worse). Would seem to me that unless your defrost was putting out some heat too, it would just fog and ice over again.

It might work well in applications where its not quite so cold.

Works good in summer too. Takes the bugs off like nothing. Our one work truck had it till recent and I always thought of throwing a system in my dodge like it
