my horrible experience with dealerships and my truck...

Glad to hear you are finally getting some traction and found a person that actually cares enough about his job to listen to a customer.
I have pretty much given up on Dodge as well and I am a fan. After hounding my dealership for a year to complete work on my truck, they just billed me for the work that I subsequently proved they did not do. They had to refund my money as they knew they were caught. At this point I won't go back there as I don't trust them not to pour sand in my crankcase or create some un-noticeable long term problem with my vehicle.
I went through the whole phone survey process, explained my dissatisfaction and said yes when offered a call back from Chrysler. Another outsourced 'customer satisfaction' company (not Chrysler) called me back at home at 2:00 every day. Well, I actually have a job to pay for this truck so I was not there to answer the phone. When I returned the calls, the person was never available. This went on for weeks until they left a final message stating if they did not hear from me the case would be closed. Seriously.
So now, a lifelong Mopar guy, has no dealership he can trust, hates his truck and Dodge too. Not that I think any of the others are better, this is the last Dodge I'm buying. Thanks for sharing your story, at least I know I'm not alone.

1) as stated in my previous post: I ONLY ever got a customer satisfaction call when the dealership knew I left happy LOL... I swear on my life I NEVER got a call after I left and they knew I was un happy. I haven't gotten a call for my past 4 visits!!!
2) Ya I'm done with dodge. TO be honest my truck's craftmanship is terrible. I mean they screwed up so many things when is was built. Windows, CPU, 4x4 etc.. And I still think there is supposed ot be a rear window defroster on my truck, but there is none! I have not brought it up with the dealership because I'm trying to find out for myself before I go to them. So if they say I am not supposed to have it and I am, I have info to back me up when I say its supposed to be there. My Jeep was great.. And i owned a 89 plymouth reliant K car (another chrysler product) that was AMAZING.. But after buying a new truck so poorly put together and such poor service, never again. Ill be chevy or GMC from here on..
I'm still going to phone chrysler canada and do a formal complaint about both dealerships. But I am going to wait and see how they handle my window issues first.

Well, I read the whole thing. You had an amazing (unpleasant) customer experience with Dodge. I got an 2010 CC with the rambox. It has been good to me so far. I have to say, I miss my 03 Avalanche. For me It will take a while to build confidence about the ram truck. Like you, this is my first experience with a new truck.
If you still have the truck, have you resolved some issues since then?
I might not be a vehicle technician but I am sure curious. Maybe I can help with the electrical problems.
Regards

Update:
I took the truck in on monday to get the windsheild and rear window taken off and put back on correctly. If you recall the dealership back in feb (I think) told me the reason I was getting leaks into the cab was because the windsheild and rear window were not put in properly. At the same time, the dealership was going to take off the 3rd brake light and put a new gasket in. They had to do this because water was getting into the brake light.
so I went to pick the truck up on wednesday. I couldn't because the dealerhsip said when they removed the old gasket from the 3rd brake light the mechanic discovered that there was trim peices behind the gasket that did not meet together. Therefore water was getting between trim peices and leaking into the brake light. So they ordered new trim.
I picke the truck up on Friday. I was told they found EXACTLY where the water was comming in to the cab from the rear window and the windsheild. Bascialyl they took both peices of glass off and saw the gaps in the bonding material that holds the glass to the truck.
She also said "oh and we did 3 recalls on the truck too". I said "oh.. I didn't get any letter in the mail telling me there was recalls to do".. she said "well you should have". I said "no I didn't.".. she said "the recalls were from august and september.. so the letters went out a long time ago..".. I said "ummm I had the truck in here a month or so ago and you guys did 2 recalls on it.. is it the same recall work maybe?".. She said "nope.. 3 different recalls..".. I said "well how come you didn't do those 3 recalls on the truck when I brought it in a month ago.. you said they were from sept and august.. so why were they not done???".. she said "I don't know what to tell you. We should have done them when you brought it in last"..
I washed the truck thoroughly today.. leaks semm to be fixed. I appricate that they are fixed, but anoyed I didn't get the letters in sept and aug for the recalls.. and I am pissed they didnt do the 5 recalls when I bought the truck in last.. I don't know why they only did 2.. and it seems the dealership has no explanation either..
never dodge again..

it is true that if they are not able to reproduce a problem they can't really fix it. because they would not know were to start digging for the cause and it would be very costly for them to replace all parts that could be the cause till the hit the right one. that behing said, it look like they did not even due the minimum, witch is try...
your truck seems to have some electrical problem that are not mass, so they have very little leads to start a good diagnose. I had a similor issue with my last GM and same with them they offered my no help. in my case it was in knocking sound in the front suppention, worst is all teck involve and invoices recieved did show that the teck heard the noise clearly, but none were able to fix it. 10 invoices later 4 days expired GM said now your expired we can't help you...
here is what I found out. you have the right to get your vehicle fix anywere. it does not have to be a dealer. and then you bring the invoices to the dealer and get reimburst for all covered repairs. but that needs to be done before your experation, because after that by law they can only be responsable for what fixes the problem and not they possible 2 or 3 parts it touck to get to that fix, .

I don't think you read the whole story. The one dealership I first took it too said they hosed the truck off for 2 hours and couldn't find a leak. They didn't check the seals on the windsheild/rear window or 3rd brake light. therefore they tried to charge me since when they supposedly hosed it for 2 horus it didn't leak. The second dealership pressure washed it and found no leak. I washed it infront of them to find the leak and instantly when the tech sat inside the truck and actually looked at how the rear window was sealed he saw the leak and that it was because the sealant wasn't put on properly. All they had to do was listen to me when I told them where the leak was, check that spot and they woudl have seen the bad sealing job. Then the head tech came out and I told him about the leak at the front of the truck. He didn't even try to make it leak, he went to his computer and sereached what is wron if the truck leaks in that spot. Instantly the comp told him the windsheild was not properly sealed.
Then the dealership said since the 3rd brake light had no condensation in it when they looked at it, they can't fix it. I pointed out that when I brought it in I showed the lady at the desk the condensation. So they agreed to replace the seal. When they took the lens off, they admited it was obvious the seal was shot AND they saw the trim under the seal had to be replaced.
So my point is, they didn't check the truck properly at eighter dealership. So all this frustration could have been avoided if they just looked at the damn seals instead of hosing the truck off. The last tech said if he was the first to look at my truck he wouldn't even had tried to hose it off, he would have just take 2 mins to check each seal. Which in my opinion seemed like the most logical thing to do instead of stand their hosing it off for supposedly 2 hours.
thanks for the heads up about being able to take it anywhere and bill dodge. I didn't know I could do that. I will never take the truck to the dealership again!!

an observation...
Hello. I am a new guy to the forum. I am sorry you have had these problems. Wish you the best.
I read this entire thread (almost) word for word, and I noticed that no where in the thread did I see the name of the dealership mentioned. If I were you I would be plastering the name of the dealership as well as the names of the people I dealt with ALL OVER THIS FORUM. Why protect them?? Then, I would email them a link to the forum.
I have a 2011 Ram Sport on order from Henson Dodge in Madisonville, Tx and believe me..... if they jack me around like your dealer did you I will be letting you all know. There are many Dodge forums as well as truck forums. Negative publicity works wonders. I cannot help but remember a number of years ago there was a news story about someone who had a large "lemon" sign (along with the dealers name) made and drove around with it on their car....guess what ... it worked.
Good luck.

Sorry I didn't comment on your post earlier.. Been busy..
anyways I live in a tiny town and I have a rpoffesional job in the community. I have to up hold proffesionalism 24/7 365 days a year.. I can't push things..
I admit my first mistake was buying the truck locally.. I should have bought out of town so I can apply the "squeeky wheel gets the grease" law..
