Default Browsing new RAMs

i bought my 2009 frontier pro-4x about 18 months ago. nothing wrong with the truck, but i am the type to get bored quickly. I have been looking at full size trucks and the RAM is friggin sharp.

pros and cons of the new body style ?
any significant problems to be aware of ?

just trying to get an idea of things..........

thanks in advance

came from 04 3500 5.9 cummins diesel 4x4, loaded with options. was totaled. replaced with an 2011 1500 sport reg cab 4x4 and love it. test drove ford ecoboost and chevy silverado. ford was ok, but there past history is some what troubling, and i didn't want a first year model complicated engine. the 5.0 engine was ok.
chevy, to me are good trucks, but i saved test driving the new 4th gen for last.
as i stated my last truck was a dodge 3500, only problem was it needed ball joints every 40 to 50000mile, cummins just a bit too heavy for them. that is my only complaint with my dodge. not one other problem. compared to the other two brands, nicer interior, nicer fit and finish. you will have to experience the hemi for yourself to understand how much fun it is. i chose dodge for reliability and the best "bang for the buck". there was one recall on 11, rear diff was low on fluid from factory. dealer called and let me know before recall was announced. had less than 50 miles on truck. try them all and have fun.

thanks for the info !

i do like the GMC sierra 1500, so i may test drive them and see what i like.
i hate to lose the manual transmission ( i drove 300 miles to get my nissan because its what i was looking for )

a white reg cab sport is what sparked my interest in the dodges.
my dad had a 92 dakota and currently has a 2000 durango.
my brother has a 2002 dakota

i worked for a chrysler svc dept for 3 years...........................
only bad thing i have heard is from a friend who has an 05 dakota..........lots of rust issues.

i live in the "snow belt" north jersey and rust is always an issue. i run my trucks through the car wash and always get the under wash, costs 2 bucks, weekly. last truck was 6 years old and no body rust what so ever.

The Rams are great trucks. You would not be disappointed.

You may want to go test drive the all new 2011 Ford F-150? The new engines are outstanding. The 5.0L V8 is a close match to the Ram 5.7L HEMI. The 3.5L EcoBoost (twin-turbocharged) V6 is stellar. The 6.2L V8 is a stump puller. Good luck!

Here is the biggest plus to a Ram over your Frontier: You get much more room and power for roughly the same fuel economy. I'd wait for the 2012's as they may come with the new 8spd automatic. I haven't owned mine long enough to speak to build/quality issues.

An even bigger plus, Ram over Datsun, is that the Ram is an American truck.
