power wagon with 4.56 gears gas mileage ??
4.10s are the perfect gear for a 2500 hemi.
I bet I could get 16 mpg on the interstate going 70 mph with no head wind. I got 15.2 mpg into about a 10 mph head wind doing 70 on the interstate when I bought it. I have only put about 4 tanks though it so far because I have only had it for about 4 weeks. Most of my driving is 55 - 60 mph highway with lots of rolling hills. I put about 260 miles on pulling my camper at about 65 mph that is when I got about 8.5 mpg. On a flat road no hills no wind I am sure I could hit 16 mpg. Those darn hill make it down shift to about 2,800 rpm to maintain speed. That is where the 4.10 might be better maybe it would not need to down shift. I run about 1,500 - 1,600 RPM around 55 mph to 60 mph.
A Power Wagon only costs about $6,000.00 above a standard 2500 4X4. To buy the lockers (front and rear), 4.56:1 gears (front and rear) a 12,000 pound Warn winch, plus installation will set you back about $8,000.00. All the while, you will still be lacking the electronically disconnecting anti-sway bar, plus the voided warranty previously mentioned.

Ive had my 2011 PW for about two months now and on the hwy I can get about 20mpg driving the speed limit at 100 km/h and out in the bush at work I can get anywhere between 8-14mpg. I certainly didnt buy it for the fuel economy but coming from a chev duramax diesel it certainly is way better on fuel and I love it!!
I just came back from vacation. On the 675 mile trip to our destination I averaged 14.8 m.p.g. This was with E-10% (90% gasoline/10% ethanol) gasoline. The California special.
For the trip home, about 550 miles, I averaged 16.5 m.p.g. This time around, I started with a tank full of 100% gasoline. I also had half a bed's worth of firewood for the trip home.

What I find odd is that the 4th gen Hemis get like 20 MPG hwy. And 4th gen PW are so much worse than that according to this thread...granted everyone jumps to the 4.56 gears being the reason behind it...yet in many threads for 3rd gen Hemi's many guys claim they get a bit better MPG when upgrading to 4.10-4.56. I want a PW in a BAD way, but I also want a truck that can get 20 MPG in a bad way now that gas spiked to $4+/gal. How is this??
