my dealers service dept experience over 1 year..
i bought my truck on 3/29/10, sales guys great, got a great deal... LOVE the truck couldnt be happier... My father bought a truck within a few months as well as about 3 other ppl i referred in the same timeframe..
my truck had a paint bubble on tailgate. i took it back within the first month and they had it for 3 days and painted the whole gate. My dad's truck has a paint bubble dead under his drivers side door handle and have asked the service dept numerous times and they say they are waiting for an answer from dodge.
I bought into the free oil changes/inspection for life for a few $ and got the "we can pick it up and drop back off, no problem" (work within 3 miles of dealer)
So far i have only gotten them to pick my truck up for the first oil change, and once for the inspection. on the 2nd oil change where i went after work and was a "WAITER" my truck sat outside the showroom for an hour until i said something to a salesman and it was blamed on a tech who pulled in an overnight dropoff by mistake... They did my tire rotation for free as a result.
The inspection day(end of Feb) came and went with no one showing up. Went down the dealer the next day/sat and went straight to the owner and said WTF is wrong with this place, told him what happened and how the service dept cant even give my dad an answer on his paint problem.... I recieved a "SORRY" from the owner and that he would find out about the paint issue on my dad's truck and that they would come and geo it the following monday... they did and dropped it off without issue
fast foward to last night, get a flat tire in the middle of nowhere... get a ride home get a real jack/tools and get all muddy and change it and throw it in the back. When i bought my truck i bought the Tire Hazard plan that covers up to 4 wheels and tires damaged from any road hazards.. Called dealer this morning and of course they are too busy and shorthanded to pickup just like every oil change. drive over after work, wait an hour and they come say how its fixed, plugged it.. just a nail. Well would be great if i didnt have to drive on it for a few hundred yards to get off road which did you know what to the sidewall....
I keep my truck nice and i know that when i clean my truck this tire is going to bug the hell out of me.
parents seem to think i should raise hell... i im just sick of what seems like is ****ty service and having to talk to the owner to get things corrected.. ( i worked in sever dealers and know several ppl at this place) i am a parts manager and know not everyone is happy all the time... I am over demanding and being a whiny jerk or am i getting shat on???

Is that just a wet spot on top or is it missing a hunk of rubber? Otherwise, there is no way they are going to replace a tire when it can get plugged.
As for the rest of it, sounds like small mistakes - not sure what you would raise hell over. I can't believe that they would actually pick up and drop off a truck for an oil change.

I think he's talking about the fact that it was run flat long enough to wear the sidewall down into the white inner layer. I have no idea how bad that is for a tire but I'd hate to have to live with it too. Frankly, if that happened to me I'd probably replace it (or the pair if they had too many miles on) because on a truck with heavy loads and pulling trailers I'd hate to risk it.

Probably. But he didn't, so now he has the situation he has. Hard to go back in time.
Oldjeep, I definitely didn't drive on a flat intentionally... Ran into a friends house and it was fine, ten mins later hopped in and drove away and noticed after making a turn 50ft away am was on a one lane road with no where to pull over for about 100 yds..

General rule of thumb... If the nail is outside of the outside most tread line of the tire it is NOT repairable (based on the wet spot it looks like it may have been?). Heat collects around the sidewall of the tire and patches/plugs can fail due to the heat. Ask any tire shop, they will tell you the same thing.
Almost all road hazard plans are pro-rated based on how much tread remains on the bad tire. So if you do talk them into a replacement you may have some out of pocket cost.
A good dealer is SOOOO KEY. I am glad I have a VERY GOOD one. Charlie's Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep in Maumee, Ohio... Thumbs up!

Here is an pic of what I am talking about. You are on the boarder based on your pic. Also found a nifty gauge.
As for your sidewall... Pay attention to your dash lights, your TPMS light would have been on when you started the truck
Ever since I started driving I always look at my gauges and lights before I put it into gear. Although back in the day it was usually to make sure I had no brake light or oil pressure issues.
