Default Chrome or anodized side steps?

New member to forum - first time poster...

I brought a new 2011 Laramie last week (4X4, Deep Water Blue, Crew Cab). The dealer didn't have the side assist steps in stock and is going to have to order them (by the way - three weeks to get them in). They gave me two options: 1. "chrome" or 2. "anodized"

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on which coating is better and/or lasted longer. Also, I searched around on-line today and can't find a picture of what the two different coats look like.

On a related topic...the dealer is going to charge me $695 for the "anodized" or $850 for the chrome. I found some "anodized" steps on amazon.com for $350 plus $40 for shipping. Amazon.com says the steps are Mopar genuine accessory. Does anyone think I'm not safe purchasing them on-line and saving about $300 dollars.

I'm know if I purchase the steps on Amazon.com I wouldn't get / keep the factory 3 year / 36,000 mile warranty as if I buy them from the dealer. It just bother me that the dealer seems to be charging so much more money for the same item I can purchase on-line... (that's if the steps on Amozon.com are really a genuine Mopar steps !!!)

I'd look for polished stainless on various websites - cheaper and better..... do away with rust and corrosion....
