Default Upgraded from 3rd Gen to 4th Gen

I traded in my 05 QC Hemi Sport for a 2011 QC Hemi Sport yesterday and it is like night and day. The improved power and MPG is well worth it. You get the best combination of performance and economy when you need it. Granted I have only driven it a 1/4 tank (75% HW, 25% City), but I averaged 18.8 MPG. My 05 could never get off of 16 even while being extremely conservative. The HEMI even sounds great with just the stock exhaust. I worked the salesman after two visits and was able to get them down $9000 from the MSRP of $42000.

I did test drive an F150 Ecoboost to see if it was worth the extra couple of MPGs and didn't like it one bit. My first truck was a dodge, so I wanted something to compare it to. The commercials/marketing make it out to be a monster of an engine, but there is a huge delay in throttle response. It is also a little strange without the V8 sound. I will take the HEMI any day over it!! I was also a little worried about the first year of a complex engine. In the end, I definitely made the right choice.

Welcome to the 4th Gen. You'll like it even more every single time you drive it!

ArkHemi is absolutely right. I like mine more every day. The one and only thing I don't like on mine is the cruise controll being on the little stalk. But I guess I will get used to it.

+1. Wished they would have located the cruise controls on the steering wheel and stuck the information center controls somewhere else since they aren't used as often.

I wish I could get 18 mpg out of mine. You must be driving with a very light foot because I'm seeing 15 - 16 with 50/50 driving.

I definitely agree both of you about the Cruise Control location. Its almost as if they designed the truck and went "wait we forgot the cruise control!"...

I do like the cruise on the front of my wheel much more than the little stalk hanging out. Our 09 Caliber has the little stalk as well and I hate it. Looks like they stole a crappy Toyota design. The rest of the truck is nice though.

Had mine up to 20.2 MPG the other day. I am thoroughly excited to be taking it on vacation to Colorado later this month so I can really see how high I can get the MPG up to. Congrats on the new truck. You will love it. I had a 2006 Dakota ST and my new 2011 Ram Hemi QC SLT 4x4 is such a step up from that that I literally feel guilty for driving it at times.
