Default Towing Tire Pressure

IS it necessary/recommended to add pressure to the tires when towing/hauling? I ran into a guy (canadian, eh??) who told me I should pump all tires up to their max rating when towing. HE actually told me he was at 80 psi at that point.......Never heard that before and since I didnt ask and he was canadian I figured he may not know what he is talking about

anyhow just kidding about the canadian thing so all canucks dont get too offended eh!!

:P

Read your sidewall. It'll give you your Max psi.

Do you have Lt tires? How heavy is your trailer?

I run the recommended preasure in my BFG TA. Lt tires. My trailer isn't heavy enough to stress them.

I run the recommended pressure in the door jam. It's designed to tow the max allowed at that pressure.
