Tailgate brace coming thru
I have a 2010 2500 Laramie and the tailgate brace is coming thru the outside of the truck on each end of the brace. An inspection made by removing the inner panel reveals that the single brace fails to go all of the way accross the tailgate ending an inch or more shy on each side and is therefore only conected to the front or rear panel. The end corners are now working there way out to the painted outside on both ends of the brace. After the local dealership began giving me the run around on repair or replacement I had second opinions on the cause of the damage. Three non Dodge body shops have stated that it is a design problem or possibly just indicative of workmanship on mine.
Anyone else having this tailgate issue?

It is the the outside corner of the tailgate brace comong thru. There is identical damage on the other side. Between the front and rear panels a single support (?) brace goes from the left side to the right side. The brace however ends short of going all the way accross ending abruptly. It is secured to nothing on the left and right sides. The sharpe corners have torn thru the rear, painted side. Quick removal of the inside panel makes the brace itself visable.
