differences between the new 2500s vs 1500s
interior is the same
stronger frame, leaf vs coil rear springs, independent vs solid front axle...
driving wise the 1500 is the second best riding pickp I have ever ridden in, the 2500 is... well... not.

Brakes, cooling, suspension, frame and more. 1500 rides like a car and a 2500 like a truck. I have both and prefer my 2500 for my work and towing needs, the 09 TRX4 I had couldn't handle what my 2500 can.
a buddy of mine had me test drive the tundra, we flew over speed bumps, that thing drives nice, and is more American than our rams (i hate to say it, I really do).
I went 2500 not only for work purposes, but because all the 4th gen 1500s either came with the 6ft bed and tiny @$$ quad cab that you cant put anyone in the back, or the bigger cab with a tiny bed than cant hold. I dont know why they did the compared to the comfortable 3rd gen cabs and 6 ft beds. So i went 2500 got the crew cab and 6 ft bed.
But yea frame, suspension, 4.11 gears stock, lots of coolers. rear leafs, pretty rough ride.
Love it though, first truck ive owned that I can tow a trailer loaded with crap without a struggle, and the electric brake controller I just added makes a world of difference on elec. brake equipped trailers (but that also is available on 1500s)

4.11 is not a stock gear. It may be the standard gear for a TRX but 3.73 is in most of the Hemi 2500 trucks.

For 2012 the Hemi transmission has been upgraded to the 66RFE, and the front suspension has been improved as well as the cooling for both oil and tranny. There are also reports that different rearends with helical gears, upgraded bearings, and aluminum finned covers are being used in some...sounds pretty beefy to me!
Indeed, the Tundra has a decent drive train but has to be one of the worst riding trucks I have ever been in.
